One of the most common questions homeowners ask is about gutter cleaning cost. The answer depends on several factors:
Size and height of your property
Level of debris build-up
Whether you have extensions, conservatories, or blocked downpipes
Typical gutter cleaning prices in the UK start from around £50 for a small bungalow and increase for larger houses or commercial buildings. Some contractors advertise a fixed gutter cleaning price, while others offer free quotes after inspecting your property.
Comparing gutter cleaning costs between different providers helps you find the best deal — just make sure you’re comparing like for like, including insurance cover and service guarantees.
Many people search online for advice on how to clean gutters, but climbing ladders can be dangerous without the right training or tools. If you’re wondering how to do it yourself, the steps usually include:
Using a sturdy ladder and gloves
Scooping out debris by hand or with a gutter scoop
Flushing the gutters with a hose
Checking for leaks or loose brackets
However, hiring the best gutter cleaners is almost always the safer choice. Professionals have extension poles, vacuums, and harnesses that make the job efficient and risk-free.

Racton is a small hamlet in the civil parish of Stoughton, within the Chichester district of West Sussex. It lies along the River Ems, about 2.1 miles (3.4 km) northeast of Emsworth. Just north of the hamlet stands the Racton Monument, also known as Racton Ruin or Racton Folly, a striking structure built between 1766 and 1775 for the 2nd Earl of Halifax. Designed by architect Theodosius Keene, son of Henry Keene, the monument originally featured a triangular base with three smaller turrets at each corner and a central tapering tower of four storeys. Over time, however, the folly fell into ruin, losing its floors, roof, and much of its flint facing. Today, the Racton Monument is recognized as a Grade II listed building, noted both for its historical significance and its eerie reputation. Local legends tell of paranormal activity at the site, with stories of flying bricks, ghostly faces in the windows, apparitions, and even a phantom tractor. Historically, Racton was once its own civil parish until 1 April 1933, when it was merged into Stoughton; in 1931, it recorded a population of just 113 residents.
